What is Nicole Nelson Beauty's cancellation policy?

We are an appointment-only studio. A 50% deposit is required for all online bookings to reserve your appointment. We ask for 24 hours' notice for rescheduling or cancellations. Without providing 24 hours' notice, you will be charged 100% for the scheduled service.

What is a Dermaplane Facial?

Dermaplaning manually exfoliates the skin using a medical-grade scalpel to remove dead skin cells and vellus hair (peach fuzz); to reveal a smooth and brighter complexion. This technique allows for better product penetration resulting in glowing skin without downtime. 
Although Dermaplaning will reduce texture and provide smoother skin, it is not ideal for clients with active acne lesions.

What is Nano Infusion?

Nano Infusion is a non-invasive transdermal serum delivery system designed to rejuvenate your skin and common issues like lack of tone, uneven texture, excessive pigmentation, scarring, and loss of elasticity.

Are services offered for male clients?

All of our services are available for male clients to book with the exception of the intimate areas, which are: Any bikini wax service, Brazilian and butt.

What kind of wax do you use and does it hurt?

We use soft wax  or hard wax for eyebrows and only hard wax for other face and body waxing services.

The level of pain is dependent upon your tolerance. Certain areas of the body are more painful than others. Some people compare the experience to removing a Band-Aid®.

How can I prepare for my wax?

We recommend a warm shower or bath right before the appointment to help soften the skin and hair. Using a gentle body polish 24 - 48 hours before your appointment will break down and loosen any dead skin cells around the base of the hair. Avoid caffeine and alcoholic beverages 24 hours before your appointment because they can increase sensitivity to the skin. Wear loose-fitting, breathable clothing to reduce friction against their skin. Some clients find Tylenol or Ibuprofen helpful 30 minutes before the service.

How long does my hair need to be for a bikini, leg, or underarm wax?

Accepted Answer

For the best possible result, the hair should be 1/4 of an inch  A good way to test this is to see if your hair covers at least half of your pinky fingernail or the length of a grain of rice. Clients should wait at least 3-4 weeks post shaving or using a chemical depilatory (Nair™ or Veet®) to ensure the hair is the appropriate length. If the hair is longer, just leave it, there is no need to trim it.

Can I receive a wax while I'm on my menstrual cycle?

Yes, but we encourage clients to wear a tampon or menstrual cup during the service. Although waxing is achievable, you may experience more sensitivity and perspire more than usual. If you are concerned, please wait until your cycle ends before scheduling.

How often should I get waxed?

Everyone's hair growth cycle is different so we'll offer a custom timeline at the end of your first service. However, the average timeframe is as follows:
- Facial areas every 2-4 weeks 
- Underarms every 2-3 weeks 
- Bikini/Brazilian every 4 weeks 
- All other body areas every 4-6 weeks
